Santana & Adam Martinez Black on Black Pot highly collectible signed by Adam Martinez son of Maria Martinezthe San Ildefonso potter considered to be the most famous Pueblo potter, and his wife Santana Martinez. Santana and Adam worked together on pottery from 1960 to 1990. Santana was born in 1909 and died in 2002. Adam was born in 1904 and and died in 2000 his Mother Maria Martinez famous for her work through out the world was born in 1886 and died in 1980. Along with esquite pot is a series of rare photograph with orinal silk negative of Adam and Santana demonstraing the techniques for creating what is now known as “black on black pottery with black matte finish” Maria Martinez is seen observing the potters and then giving her final approval.
